This Cookie Policy explains how Otter (“we”, “us”) uses cookies, pixels, and similar technologies on dateotter.com. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Your Privacy Choices page.
In Québec, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) requires opt-in consent before non-essential tracking. Analytics and advertising technologies on this site are off by default until you accept them.
Essential technologies
Some technologies are necessary to operate the site: for example, keeping you signed in, remembering your language preference, and storing your cookie consent choice. These do not require consent because the site cannot work without them.
Analytics (Google Analytics)
If you opt in, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, general traffic patterns). Google may process data on servers outside Québec. We use analytics only after you accept cookies on the banner or on Your Privacy Choices.
Provider: Google LLC. Purpose: site measurement. Retention: per Google’s analytics policies.
Advertising (Meta and TikTok pixels)
If you opt in to marketing cookies, we may load the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and the TikTok Pixel. These help us measure ad performance, build audiences for Otter campaigns, and support ad platform approvals. They may collect or receive identifiers and usage data and can set cookies in your browser.
Providers: Meta Platforms, Inc. and TikTok (ByteDance). Purpose: advertising measurement and optimization. We load these pixels only after you accept marketing tracking.
Your choices
You can accept or reject optional tracking when you first visit, or anytime on Your Privacy Choices. If you reject optional tracking, analytics and ad pixels do not load. If you previously accepted and change your mind, update your choices on that page; new page loads will respect your updated settings.
You can also use browser settings to block or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies may affect how the site works.
