Our standard. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the widely accepted benchmark for accessible websites, and we follow the evolution of WCAG 2.2 as we build.

What we do. In practice, that means working toward things like: text that keeps readable contrast against its background, pages you can navigate with a keyboard alone, images with meaningful text alternatives, forms with clear labels, and content that works with screen readers and other assistive technology.

What we build for. The site is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) and with common assistive technologies, including screen readers, on both desktop and mobile.

How we check. For now, we assess ourselves as we build, testing with keyboards, screen readers, and contrast tools rather than outside auditors. As Otter grows, so will the rigour.

Where we're honest about limits. Otter is a small team and a young product, and some corners of the site may not yet meet the standard we're aiming for. When we find those gaps, or when you point them out, fixing them goes on the list, not in a drawer.
