The name

Sea otters hold hands while they sleep so the current can’t pull them apart. On open water, drifting is what happens when you do nothing at all. Staying together is a choice, and they make it every single night. They know what some people spend half a lifetime learning: finding someone is only part of it. Holding on is the rest. We named Otter after that instinct. Find the right person, then hold on.

What is Otter?
A dating app that gets to know you before it introduces you. You answer real questions about your life and what you want, and every introduction comes with a reason behind it, not just a good photo and a guess.
Who can join?
Anyone 18 or over. Montréal opens first, but the waitlist is open across Canada, and every signup counts toward your own city’s opening.
Why 60 answers before my first introductions?
Because that’s the point where we can introduce you honestly. Fewer, and we’d be guessing like everyone else. It’s a little more work than other apps ask, and it’s also the reason we think every introduction here will mean something.
Who can see my answers?
Other members never see your answers. An introduction shows only a few things you two share, and never a sensitive answer you’ve kept hidden. And we never sell your data.
What does Otter cost?
You pay once. Before your city opens, the founding price is C$60; after opening day, it’s C$80, plus applicable taxes. If life pulls you away, you can come back whenever you want without paying again.
When does my city open?
When it’s ready. Every city opens at its own membership milestone rather than on an arbitrary date, so if you want your city to be next, make sure to sign up.
Will the AI ever message someone for me?
With the full appNever. When you’re stuck, it might point you somewhere (a thing to ask, a thread to pull), but every word is yours.
